MOREOB Poster wins “Most Interprofessional Collaboration” Award at Halton Healthcare Services Annual Safety Expo

Halton Healthcare Service’s commitment to patient safety takes many forms. For the past three years, staff and physicians have been sharing their safety initiatives at the annual Patient Safety Expo. The objective of the Safety Expo is to “share and communicate patient safety initiatives with colleagues across the organization and our consumers and to recognize and celebrate ourselves and our achievements”. This year there were over 48 posters presented at each of the three Halton Healthcare Sites with over 600 staff, physicians, volunteers, and patients in attendance. Members of the tri-site MOREOB Core Team created a poster highlighting the objectives and activities of the MOREOB initiative.

Halton Healthcare Services is currently in Module 1 of the MOREOB Program with nursing staff, physicians, midwives and some RTs currently learning by reading the chapters and performing Skills Drills. Other awards included ‘most original,’ ‘biggest impact,’ ‘most engaging of patient and families,’ ‘best design,’ and ‘honourable mentions.’ The safety-related activities during November culminated in a Celebrations evening held recently where our MOREOB teams were recognized by the organization!
