CHATHAM-KENT -- The MOREOB Core Team was selected as one of the three finalists in the ‘Mission-Team’ category for the 6th Annual Chatham-Kent Alliance, Tri-Board Awards for Excellence. This annual Awards program honors staff, physicians and volunteers who exemplify performance excellence within and beyond the healthcare environment. The MOREOB Core Team was one of the three finalists – which is a great honour. A very proud night for both the MOREOB Team and the Women & Children’s Program!

The Employee recipient Award was presented to Kristy Simpson, Unit Clinical Leader, Maternal Newborn Unit. An example of CKHA’s Mission, Vision and Values, Kristy partners with patients and families in care. Skilled in all aspects of the Women & Children’s Program, Kristy is able to work in Paediatrics, Nursery, Labour and Delivery. She is respected by colleagues, volunteers on numerous committees, and is a union representative.  Kristy has recently become a new member of the Core Team. 

The Physician recipient award was presented to Dr. Baljit Singh, Medical Director, Chief of Obstetrics. With dignity and respect Dr. Singh cares for patients. He is known as a team player, dedicated to patient safety and quality of care. Despite long days, he volunteers on several committees including the MOREOB Program, Program Council and Medical Advisory Committee. Dr. Singh is currently the MOREOB Program co-chair.
